White House Complains About the RNC Press Wing (to the to DNC Press Wing)

Posted in [Uncategorized] By Chip Meyer

The irony of this story is just too darn funny. Anita Dunn, White House Communications Director, chooses CNN to complain that FOX News acts like a wing of the Republican Party.  Her point: If you agree with the administration, you’re a news network, and if you disagree you’re not.

Interim White House Communications Director Anita Dunn (C) talks with White House Senior Advisor David Axelrod before the start of a swearing-in ceremony in the East Room of the White House May 1, 2009 in Washington, DC. Dunn, a longtime Democratic consultant, has agreed to work for the Obama Administration for up to several months until a permanent appointee is named. It’s too bad there is not enough shame left in the administration for her to do the proper thing and simply resign. That kind of comment would have been (just barely) acceptable coming from a low-level figure in off-the-cuff comments. Coming from the Communications Director talking to CNN about a competitor (one that is kicking their butts), this was absurd. Shameful.
